Hey, everyone!

I should probably introduce myself…

My name is Julie and this is my first blog (“Hi, Julie”).  It’s a requirement for one of the graduate classes I’m taking in the Integrated Marketing Communications Program at West Virginia University.  We’ll see where it takes us.

I recently graduated from Bethany College in Bethany, WV.  It’s a small, private school in the northern panhandle of West Virginia.  I earned a BA in Communication with a print specialization and a minor in Spanish. Hablo un poco Espanol.  (Translation: I speak a little Spanish).

One of my favorite things to do is travel.  I’ve been to quite a few places for only being 22 years old.  In the United States, I’ve been to places like Great Falls (Montana), Las Vegas (Nevada), Myrtle Beach (South Carolina), New York City (New York), Bradenton (Florida) and Boston (Massachusetts).  Internationally, I’ve visited quite a few places, too.  I spent two weeks in the country of Panama.  During this trip, I got to visit Panama City (another Miami) and Bocas del Toro (a very poor area).  The experience changed my life.  I’ve also been on a seven-day Caribbean cruise.  It was a present to myself for graduating from college in four years.  I stepped foot in Mexico (Cozumel, Tulum), Honduras (Roatan Island), Belize (Belize City), and the Bahamas (Freeport).  I recommend everyone take a cruise sometime in their life.

If I’m not traveling, I enjoy reading, sports, and family time.  In addition to schoolbooks, I’m reading Tori Spelling’s book entitled “sTORI TELLING.”  I like romances, comedies, and celebrity biographies.  I’m really into sports.  I love WVU Mountaineer and Pittsburgh Steelers football.  I’m a Yankee fan, too.  I really enjoy sitting down and watching a good football game.  I like watching WVU basketball, too.   There is nothing better than sitting and watching an intense game with my dad and pap.  As you can probably tell, family is very important to me.

I just moved into my first apartment.  Learning a new city has had its difficulties, but I’m really enjoying this process.  Bills, new responsibilities, and chores have come along with new freedoms.

This blog is an experiment for me.  Like I mentioned, it’s a requirement for one of my classes, but who knows where it may lead me?  I could turn out to really enjoy this blogging thing.  Then, everyone better watch out!  Feel free to interact with me.  Ask questions.  Tell stories.  Share opinions.
